Oversized cables, divided by dropped stitches distinguish this design.
The sideways cables curve around to form the shoulder and sleeve in one piece. The back is knit in stockinette stitch in one piece with the sleeves. All techniques used are clearly described in the stitch glossary. There is no chart to follow for these easy cables. Recommended for the intermediate knitter who is experienced with reading patterns.

Needles required:
Size 11 circular needles, 24” long or longer
Sizes:
Small (30”-32”), Medium (34”-36”), Large (38”-40”) Finished width at armholes: 32” (36”, 40”) Little or no ease is figured into the pattern, it is knit at a loose gauge and tends to stretch slightly and I recommend a close fit.
Note:
The yarn used is a bulky yarn that calls for a size 10 needle and 14 sts = 4” gauge. I knit this sweater with a looser gauge on purpose so the cables are not too tight and bulky.
Yarn: Plymouth Yarn Encore Chunky, 75% acrylic & 25% wool. |
